Random Hall in West Sussex was built in the sixteenth century. The house was originally a farmhouse and has undergone various renovations and expansions over the centuries. Today, it operates as a hotel offering accommodation, dining and event facilities.

In its early years, Random Hall served as a working dairy farm, passed down through generations of the Johnson family for more than two centuries. Over time, the hall transitioned from a farmstead to a residential property. By the nineteenth century, it is thought to have served as a private residence for local gentry.

Random Hall has been sensitively restored and repurposed as a hotel catering to travellers seeking a peaceful countryside retreat. While it has undoubtedly seen many changes over the years, the hall retains much of its historic charm and character, including its original Horsham Stone roof, wooden beams and flagstone floor.

Stay at Random Hall

The privately owned hotel has 14 spacious en-suite bedrooms, a restaurant serving locally sourced cuisine, log-fire lounges, a public bar, function rooms, and beautiful gardens. Offering seasonal menus and an interesting wine list, the hall’s renowned Flagstones Restaurant prepares classic home-cooked English food, including Sunday lunch service for pre-booked parties of 8 or more.

Each bedroom has a Freeview TV, tea/coffee-making facilities, and free Wi-Fi. The hotel has a large car park that provides free off-road parking with overnight EV chargers. Located just outside Slinfold Village and 10 minutes from central Horsham, Random Hall Hotel is a perfect location for walking, cycling, and exploring nearby Tudor places.
